My friends turned into the girls who stood in the corner and talked about me. But as soon as I picked up the guitar…I was just going to go home and write a song about it.
Whatever it is, music should sound spontaneous. I’ve derived a great deal of pleasure from playing jazz and having the knowledge of that spontaneity.
It’s an addiction….and addiction is something I should know something about.
The guitar is a small orchestra. It is polyphonic. Every string is a different colour, a different voice.
I’ve always wanted to smash a guitar over someone’s head. You just can’t do that with a piano.
I have had three wives and three guitars. I still play the guitars.
Why have my guitar strings turned into spaghetti? What a saucy mess…
